Perhaps a 12 Step center for audiophiles.

They need Vitus Class A power Jerome, plus some smooth, organic sounding cables (eg: Jorma Prime). A tube, or tube-like cd player doesn't go astray either

Thanks for the fantastic report. There was some very interesting gear that piqued my interest. Again thank your wife for the wonderful photos. No matter the lighting, she has a fine eye for shooting photos. |

I'm thankful that I can benefit from all my wife's talents! When I arrived there, I realized that I should have put on my AA shirt! Next year.

They seem to have so much potential (I also heard the Q5s a couple of years ago) but people here drive them with the wrong electronics.

Also in Meta's name, but I'm sure she'll read it herself. Can I be curious and ask which gear piqued your interest?

I also thought the YG Sophia's sounded hard until I heard a pair in a treated room connected to a Vitus SS-102. That Vitus is the first amp i've heard tame the YG's and make them sound good. Mind you, the YG's are quite a bit harder sounding than the S5's. To me, the S5's just sound a bit tight (hard?) out of the box. From all reports, after about 250hrs they open up and sound sublime. Mind you, because of their nature, system synergy is still essential to reach their potential

Even though I am not shopping for speakers I would like to give those Cantons and the large Isophon's a listen. You are the second person who recently gave the Wadia high marks. Then there is the ASR and Antelope pieces that I have not spent any time with. |
