I'm not a big movie watcher to begin with. The latest Netflix Blu-Ray disc has been here for a week now, and I haven't watched it yet. A good performing BD player is good enough for me.
Dan, I am with you on this one. I wouldn't be without a music server since you can skip around past poor songs, make playlists, view cover art, etc. I don't see any need to store movies. Even when I used to watch movies at home I would only put one in every 90 minutes, you do not skip around, you already have all the artwork.

I agree with this to a point. If you want to watch a movie in the bedroom and the disc is in the theater downstairs it is a pain in the a** to go down and get it!! Man am I getting old or what

mac man.......They say you know you are getting old when you bend over to pick something up, and while down there you look around for something else to do before you have to get back up.

My reason to have a Movie server is ease of access. I have ADD so by the time I look through my movie wall and select a disc, I am over it.

I agree that a movie server is a not a "must have" item just like a music server is also not a must have. Nothing wrong with pulling DVDs off the shelf per say but like a music server, I do like the fact that you can have hundreds of movies just a remote control click away. I was looking for an elegant and convenient solution for a HT environment. I don't really want to have shelves with over 400 DVDs either...

You have to keep those movie boxes somewhere in the house. You don't get to burn them then give them away or return them so Blockbuster.

I realize that Jim. I always pay for my music/video content and own it. I'm fine with storing them in the house, I just don't want to have over 400 DVDs in the HT room.

Serge,

All you need is this: Apple - Apple TV
and this Time Capsule - 2TB - Apple Store (U.S.)
and you will have a HD movie and music server all for less than a grand .
