In a retrospective and reflective mood on New Year's Day, just going through some racing photos from back in the day when I shot for Laguna...

The Porsche LMP2 stuffs the Audi up the inside to the entry of T2 at the 2007 ALMS race Laguna...



Daytona Prototypes slamming through T5 at Laguna. I had my back turned to the cars when shooting this and it was somewhat nerve-wracking...


Stefan Bradl at Rainey Corner during the 2012 MotoGP


Colin Edwards also at Rainey...


John Hopkins "pushing" up the front straight....


Max's Dad, Jos Verstappen during the short-lived A1 GP series...


Nicky Hayden rides his Honda MotoGP bike under a giant picture of himself entering the Corkscrew...


Ozzie Chris Vermeulen at T7 at Laguna...


Casey Stoner exits T11 at Laguna during the MotoGP race he won that year...

Still the best, most exciting racing class around, though engines vary from a twin-cam V6 (Honda) and V8 (Cadillac) to a turbo 4 (Mazda). For excitement, it is followed closely by the GTD class, with Porsche, Corvette, BMW and Ferrari mixing it up.
Not sure what changes were made for 2024, but the Rolex 24 at Daytona is always a great race.
