Default Looking for some suggestions

I am really starting to like the sound of my system and the clarity.

However, my knowledge of full orchestra music is limited to NONE....

I am looking for some suggestions on full orchestra music without (if possible) a centerpiece instrument.

If you all could share some ideas for me to trial I would really appreciate it.

Joe - try Saint Saiens 3rd symphony on Telarc. It is a full orchestra plus organ, very accessible, a great listen.

If you just want to test your system a bit and dip your toe into classical, try this from Reference Recordings:. There are some fun pieces that will show off your system a bit.
https://referencerecordings.com/reco...rom-the-opera/

Then if you want to get serious, try Channel Classics recording of Mahler’s Symphony no. 1 with Ivan Fischer conducting the Budapest Festival Orchestra. The dynamic range is awesome, and it’s a gorgeous recording and performance.

You can also try another Reference Recording, Beethoven’s 5th & 7th symphonies with Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony.

Beethoven's Symphonies 5 & 6. You'll recognize the opening of the Fifth. Be sure your system is turned up before it starts! The Sixth is a day in the country with a terrific thunderstorm. The versions conducted by Carlos Kleiber are an easy recommendation.

It's exciting to see someone starting this journey. I want to offer a word of encouragement--I'm 62 and still searching out new music. But almost all the music I love the most--from Dylan to Sinatra to Bach--I had to work at. At first listen Dylan couldn't sing, Sinatra was depressing, and Bach was a chaotic mess. You're getting--and will get-- great recommendations. Try them all. Then try them again.

Tom

W9TR how do I purchase or download it??? I only have found it on Youtube, seems like an excellent choice but my MacBook Pro can't do what my Bryston Mini-Ts can!

Antonmb Excellent, Thank you!

I purchased both exotic-dances-from-the-opera and Beethoven’s 5th & 7th symphonies with Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony...Really can hear all the pieces and instruments...

Amazing how they sound.

Let the journey and trip not end but continue!

Great - there’s nothing like discovering new music on a hood system. If you decide you’d like to discover more classical, you might try browsing the classical thread here: http://www.audioaficionado.org/showthread.php?t=3756

Saint-Saëns 3rd Symphony is also a great suggestion. I’m not familiar with the Telarc recoding, it here’s a very good one, another from Reference Recordings:

One suggestion is Aaron Copeland's Fanfare for the Common Man. It is one of my test tracks to use when auditioning equipment. The bass drum is quite powerful. The version I have is by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Louis Lane conducting. Here's another version by the NY Philharmonic:

And for the heck of it, Emerson, Lake and Palmer's version:
