Default Need Some Sinatra Help!

I'm looking for the definitive reissue of Sinatra's "In The Wee Small Hours" lp. Somewhere I read there is a CD reissue done in the late 80's that is the one to get (as far as digital goes).

I suppose an original pressing would be considered black gold, so I'm not going to go off and chase that grail. Is the vinyl version (Capitol) that being offered on Amazon, Music Direct, Acoustic Sounds, worth the money?

Here's the rub: I recently bought an Analogue Productions SACD remaster of Dean Martin's "Dream With Dean." The release is outstanding and achieves "in the room" status. So, I began to go through my Sinatra catalog. The MOFI remasters, the old Capitol records 7.5ips tapes, the CD's from various releases... Nothing in the Sinatra catalog that I own can touch the Deano release mentioned above.

In researching the Sinatra works, it's becoming clear that the seminal work is "In The Wee Small Hours"

Help a brotha' out gents.

Don't know if this will help, but with luck it will at least cause you a bit of confusion.

I have a the full set of Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs master recordings of Sinatra, which includes the album, "In the Wee Small Hours."

I bought this set for my father, who was a huge Sinatra fan. I had the absolute privilege of seeing Frank live. Twice. Both times with my dad. I've been to a boatload of live gigs, and nobody "owned" the stage like Frank.

My dad had his friend copy the vinyl to cassette so as to keep the vinyl pristine. To my knowledge they have only been played once.
I inherited the set when he died, 14 years ago. I no longer have a turntable and don't see myself going down that road again.

If you are a real, and I mean real, Sinatra lover, and might be interested in the records, shoot me a PM. I'm not interested in a boatload of money, but something would be nice. I am more interested that they would go to the right guy who would appreciate and enjoy Frank's incredible talent.

regards,

Bob

Love Sinatra! I have a pretty good collection, unfortunately some are merely MP3’s.
