I absolutely agree! The hotel rooms at Axpona leave much to be desired. And the song choices...Uggg!!! I swear they choose songs with exaggerated guitar string noise or snare drums so the stereo soundstage seems impressive.

In any case, I'm glad I went back in or I'd have forever been thumbing my nose up at the PL500's.

Congrats on the new speakers btw!

I've had the PL500s for a couple days now. I initially had them set-up without toe-in. After playing with them, I found the best placement is 4' from the front wall, a little over 3' from the side walls, almost 10' apart, and 30 degree toe-in. In my room they are very, very, very good.

I really enjoy the PL500s and have listened to music every night since I've had them. I can listen all night. No speaker is for everyone, but if you have a large enough room I submit they compete with speakers well above their cost. All around a great speaker, but there is something so special about the mid-range and highs.

I too get the upgrade bug now and then. Mostly now. Would you say the upgrade to the 500s was a significant upgrade over the 7Ts with subs?
