I've had a deposit on one for over 2 years now, this month I should know if I get it. I have a feeling my dealer is not happy with me after I sold my GT3RS right after I took delivery. So I have a feeling he won't go to bat for me on this one. Oh well... Should be an awesome car though.

Every so often I miss a MT in my Turbo s... Then I remember all the mods I've done to it and it would be 100% impossible to shift fast enough. I would be hitting red line/fuel cut off all the time. I was doing that on my 997 Turbo that just had a exhaust and software upgrade lol Having one MT sports car,Porsche GT3, and a PDK Turbo would be a perfect combo! I owned the first gen GT3(996) and it was a nightmare. It had so many issues from brand new, kind of scared me off the GT3's. Not too mention that whole engine catching fire disaster they had. If I was to get one I would probably wait for the full refresh of it. Most likely under two years away. I'm interested to see how much 918 tech trickles down into the next gen Turbo/GT3/possible GT2.

I have a 991 TT too. Mine is stock. It will be interesting to see what the next RS is. It will most likely be PDK.

Porsche's philosophy on this is spot on. You want a 911 Turbo as the "Autobahn Rocket"? Good chance that customer is not looking for a manual.

You want an ultimate track car like the GT3RS? Chances are, also no need for a manual since you are trying to best your lap times. You want PDK!

Looking for a well rounded 911? You have a choice of both manual or PDK, take your pick!

Looking to step it up to an ultimate 911 that is capable of serious track performance and just as easily be driven daily? You are looking for a GT3 and here you also now have a choice of either PDK or manual, take your pick.

How can anyone complain?

I had a '15 GT3. I think my RS rides better. If I were picking a street car and occasional track car I would pick the turbo. If I were a track junkie I would just get a spec Miata.

I never understood from Porsche point of view how that could ever make sense. I understand the creating a need part but why sell a car $150k when people would actually pay $250k on the use market for the same one.

And if demand is so high that they get such a premium, why not produce more then...

They keep the Halo cars fairly limited to create buzz around the rest of the models. Common markups over MSRP are 10K to 50K over unless you have to have one of the first ones or an R.

The list doesn't really mean anything. Its how many cars have you bought from that dealer and what kind of relationship do you have with them.
