I will say that what's always been amazing to me is what a car/vehicle we trade-in is worth versus purchasing the exact same car/vehicle once it's on the dealers lot.

Our 2014 MCS was loaded as we special ordered it with just about every option and 18K miles.
It was kept in a heated and cooled garage out of any weather conditions.
In other words it was just like new.
MSRP was something like $37,500.00 and both VW dealers started at $14,500.00 for trade allowance.
I instantly passed on both of them.
Then one of them Heavily Discounted the Golf R so it made up for the poor trade allowance.

I was in the car business for like 20 years so I know exactly how they work and for sure how the numbers work.

To net it out I personally don't like Dealers at all !!!
That includes working at them ...........

Well thankfully from my wife's prospective Brenspeed does not do Golf R cars.

But, if that was just my machine I do know that for around $600.00 dollars you can chip it.
That adds something in the neighborhood of 60 additional H/P and drops the 0 to 60 time to 4.2 seconds.
That would for sure be a Bad-Boy.

We did go look at several Audi S-3's and neither of us were impressed.
The Golf R we liked inside as well as the exterior much better.
Both of us also preferred the analog gauges in the 2017 Golf R.
The S-3 has as you know the Digital Dash.
There is not anything wrong with the digital dash we just both preferred and liked the analog gauge cluster much better.
We also liked the seats in the R better than the S-3.
