STC - The Wilson XLFs are very efficient. I've heard them being driven by the ARC GS150 to extremely loud levels. Enjoy your new system!

I am glad after 2 days of listening (of course the XS300 pair have not run in yet), I think I did not make a mistake to replace the 3 pairs of XA160.8 in my current set up

Sound-staging (I am listening 99% classical music) is absolutely rock solid and pin point. Enjoy this new amp very much

I switched XA160.8 (3 pairs) to XS300 amps as I ordered WA XLF spk and it can only accept one pair of inputs (i.e. no bi or tri amps). But the synergy between XS300 and Aida is so magical that I requested my supplier to hold the delivery of XLF spkeaker.

XS preamp will be delivered soon and I am looking forward to the partnership of this combo with Aida.

Looking forward to your feedback on the synergy of that whole system.

Only one pairs of XS300 amplifiers
Just received my XS preamplifier yesterday, which replaced my ARC Ref 10 preamplifier.

First impression is quite positive
But quite taken a back to learn that there is no On/Off switch for XS pre (i.e. It will be left on mode 24/7 )

That's really interesting because another member said he replaced his XS pre with the ARC Ref 10.

His amplifier is also XS300!

He said he preferred the soundstage and liquidity of the ARC Ref 10 compared to those of his XS Pre. I guess we all hear differently.

You will not go wrong with either ARC Ref 10 or XS Pre, both are excellent pre amps.
I guess it is very much individual preferences.
I started with complete ARC system (ARC Ref 250SE bi-amp, ARC Ref 10 Phono and ARC Ref 10 Pre). Then gradually change the gears to Pass Labs (XA160.8 tri amps --> XS300 amps and XS pre, and I am still keeping the ARC Ref 10 Phono for now)

The XS Pre is designed to work with the XS300. Using a tube preamp can work great, but you have to pay attention to impedance matching, including cable impedance and length.

XS300's are ridiculously good!
