Okay, sort of... Short story --- Saturday 38 laps until our Ford 9" rear end threw a bolt from the posi-traction unit into the works... $1400 and at 0230 Sunday it was fixed. Sunday we did 168 laps... Pretty tired group watching the Super bowl that night. Next race is the end of April at Carolina Motorsports Park. We are optimistic.

April 2017 - 24hrs of LeMons Southern Discomfort race at Carolina Motorsports Park
Well, we were optimistic until the Oil Pump decided to come loose during our testing on Friday. Geesh! After fixing the oil pump and getting the motor running again, it had too much blow-by in our 'breathers' and was clearly hurt by running a short time with no oil pressure. Probably one or more rings or worse. We decided to shut the car down for the weekend instead of trying a heroic fix and blowing it up worse. Soooo, all paid up and nothing to race, we left on Saturday afternoon. Very disappointed. We are installing an oil pressure idiot light now... Early inspection shows Piston #1 ring landing broken and cylinder 1 with no compression. Further tear down will take a few weeks as our chief mechanic is traveling. Fingers crossed it is not more damage than that as that is a fairly easy and cheap repair. Need to pull the other head and also check the main bearings.

Bummer. Loctite, wire & torque wrenches. You are suffering too many "loose nuts" (or is that loose bolts?).
