Default Clearaudio Pulley noise

Is anyone else getting a light clicking noise from the pulley on their Reference motor? If I apply very light pressure front, back, or top it disappears. Will a new $150 pulley solve this?
Regards,
Jim

Jim.......Have you inspected the pulley for debris? Have you closely inspected the belt for cracks or stretching? If you remove the belt from the motor pulley, does the clicking noise persist?

I have never had a problem with mine. A new belt is not a bad thing to have on hand I would start there. Check the pulley for wear marks a how old is the table and how much use has it got.

There is no noise without the belt, and the belt has been replaced with a new one. I have removed the pulley and cleaned it then reinstalled it with no change. I really think that the Delron screws being worn could be the problem, and will probably get a new pulley.

Jim

Why don't you contact Musical Surroundings and ask. Their customer support is excellent.

I already talked to Mike, and his suggestion was " A new pulley is $150, or for $100 per hour we can take a look at it for you.
Disappointing,
Jim

I have decided to go for a new pulley. The noise is faint, but bothersome.
Regards,
Jim

Thank you for providing closure. I have been enjoying an Ovation for about 3 months now and am very happy.

I have decided to ship the reference motor and pulley back to Mike at Musical Surroundings for a check out and repair. The motor is a Reference model which was a step up from the standard Solution motor, and is dated 02/02 so it made sense to me to have it gone over and ensure it is in proper condition. I have the RA and will ship it back in the next day or two. I have inserted the TD125MkII/Magnapan Unitrac1 table as a stand in. Not shabby, but not the same.
Regards,
Jim
