Did you have the chance to listen to the Alpha USB? How does it compare to the Sigma USB? The difference in retail pricing is significant with the Sigma.

I just placed the order for an Alpha USB; I’m sure Grant will chime in. They are a lot closer than I thought, with the Sigma of course giving you very last nuance of performance.

Same results and earth-shattering differences over anything else tried happened with the Alpha and SIGMA AES/EBUs and the CLOCK50s for me. Shunyata is at the absolute top of their game kicking butt and taking names with their digital cables and their other offerings! Don't know how Caelin will beat this latest generation !

This is based on reports from distributors, dealers, early adopters and beta testers. Every single person reported that the Alpha USB cable significantly outperformed their current reference. Interestingly, each person had a different brand that they used as a reference. Actually some of these 'reference' cables had a retail price above $10K.

Most people report that the Alpha cable was superb and couldn't image anything better. That is until they had an opportunity to try the Sigma USB. Many of the people have ONLY had the Alpha cable. Production is ramping up slowing. Of those people that have tried both the Alpha and Sigma - if you were to put a number on it - say that the Alpha is about 80% compared to the Sigma. However, and this is a big one - two people, based upon their specific equipment and systems reported that there was very little difference between the Alpha and Sigma. So it would seem that some equipment is more or less sensitive to the differences between the two cables.

I guess the best advice is to get the Alpha USB. You won't be disappointed. However, if you are a person that only wants the absolute best - then you will want to go with the Sigma USB. Of course, we always advise getting a trial and working with a great dealer that facilitates such trials.

I think you may be able to find a very good dealer - extremely close at hand.

I am one who has treaded lightly in the cable arena. Power and analog interconnect cables are DIY. Digital interconnects are not.

I am using your Venom USB. Are there comparisons of it to the Alpha?
