But the increased detail isn't at the expense of soundstage depth. Sweet, very sweet indeed. Will report back later...over and out..
I thought I spied a Lumin sitting in the rack. I've got the S1 and think it's a wonderful piece of equipment.

Enjoy the new amps!

I haven't compared these two amps, but I own Magnepan 3.7i speakers. I would think that the much higher power of the MC601 would be a large advantage with the Maggies compared to the Pass amp.

I have the 601's and the Maggie 3.7i's and it makes for a very good combination. Can't comment on the Pass amp other than I hear they run a lot hotter than my Mac's.

Gavin.......Well it's been three months since you installed the MC601's in your sound system. I'm guessing you have over 100 hours on them by now. How about an update. Are the 601's still making you and your better half smile?

Paul - I wouldn't say the same regarding your excellent SF speakers, but Maggies are well known for really opening up dynamically when driven by higher powered amps.

..more like a goofy grin Dan. I've been messing around with different XLRs and have hit on what seems to be an optimum synergy. The sonics are better than anything I've ever heard bar none. I have a couple of golden eared buddies, one an accredited acoustics engineer and the both say I've pretty much maxed it out here. Plus the tech from my local hi end dealer who's heard all the big boy stuff says he's never heard better. As far as I'm concerned I've laid my hands on the audiophile equivalent of the Golden Fleece. The only thing I'll be buying in the near future will be more music!

Gavin.......Reading your post made me smile. I feel exactly the same way about my pair of 601's.

I'm happy for you. .

..Cerious Technologies Graphene Extremes...$230 for a 1m pair and I'd put them up against anything out there regardless of price...seriously. I A/B'd them against a $5000 msrp cable which will go unnamed...I have my reasons...and they were the equal sonically and that was with just a few hours on the GE's.
