MCD600 Sound Issue!

MCD600 Sound issue. About 3-month-old unit. Recently started, for couple of minutes very faint sound, then as it warms up after a minute or so some crackle (sometimes) then back to normal.

Source could be CD or Optical.

Output can be fixed or variable XLR or RCA.

As though there is a tube in the output stage! Crackle and warm – so tube like!

Once going, sounds normal.

Can be reproduced every time after couple of hours of power off rest.

Yogi.......This is obviously not a normal operating condition. I would take this up with your McIntosh dealer immediately. It may be a power supply issue, or possibly an analog output stage issue. Either way this should be covered by the McIntosh three year warranty providing you are the original owner.
