Thanks Jerome. I've missed vinyl! What am I building? I'm not 100% sure yet myself! I have been into this hobby long enough to know better than to think audiophiles have solid and rational plans!

Not sold by Linn. Linn always stick to felt mats.

I bought a Scout 1.1 with a Dynavector 20x2 from Overture about a month and a half ago. I like it! No sales tax in Delaware so the 1 hour trip from PA was worth it.

Question: I have the VPI Scout with the original acrylic platter, I know. The 1.1 has the aluminum platter. What difference does or will it make if I upgrade my acrylic platter to Aluminum? Thanks.

I upgraded my Scoutmaster. It is hard to say exactly the difference from the acrylic to aluminum in my situation as I also upgraded cart (MM Maestro ----> MC Gullwing) and phono cable at the same time. Needless to say it was a big jump up, I just don't know how much the platter contributed. Maybe Myles can chime in..... I seem to remember reading his comments on moving up to the Al platter on his Super Scoutmaster, I think he gave it a product of the year award.
