850 Hours on Burmester/Aida system - Pure Bliss

Ivan you are very blessed to be able to experience such system on an almost daily basis.

I've been at the Cape twice and both times were memorables. I still have the chills thinking back on the experience I had. You are a very gracious host and the Aida's are only the cherry on top.

I have tested many powers with the Aidas and i ve decided to keep the 1.2 kw
I havent tested with the 909's with the 808 .
In your opinion what are the major differences?

HFO has no mud at all. Not surprised he was moved to tears. First time I heard the vinyl on a proper rig I had chills... It made the poor CD such a second class listen. You know what we're doing when I head up there straightaway!

Jimmy... I find the Burmester amps have more finesse and upper end detail, yet they have plenty of muscle for bass slam; they are faster amps IMO. I completed a system recently where my customer chose three 909's instead of three 911's like I have.

THREE 909s...

What was the difference with your 911s in sound Ivan?
I've heard the 909 sounds a bit 'warmer', yet even more detailed.

In the spring, I am looking forward to hearing the TAD CR-1 speakers on the Accuphase Integrated Amp. It will probably be the perfect system for my budget and I can imagine myself enjoying that system for the rest of my later years. Have a safe trip down south and bring some warm weather back when you return.

Ivan, great story. To date, your Burmester/Aida system is the most attractive display of audio equipment I've seen (not in person). It's the system that inspires me when trying to plan my own. If it sounds as good as it looks, I bet I would cry like a baby.

I think there are quite a few people in our hobby who never heard a true all effort properly setup. I had a guy selling used records tell me that his 20 year old 1000 dollar system (then) sounded as good as any "high dollar" system. I just shook my head. Ivan demonstrates what is possible.
