I must say that it's a bit strange that a power cable to a subwoofer that plays under 35hz can make that big difference. You probably have to hear it to understand it.
Carl, first absolute congrats on the new power cord. It's a beauty. I have found that every improvement that I have made to my sub system has made a significant improvement. I have recently purchased a MC2.1KW to power my Thor along with and additional AQ Hurricane HC 2 meter pc and a 3 meter AQ Hurricane Source cord. Although my 1.25KW does a fine job with my Thor I expect a significant improvement with my new 2.1KW Anniversary. The amp weighs 400 pounds and has 8 enormous capacitors storing 1,720 joules. I know that you are enjoying your Gotham immensely.

Thank you Carl. I think it's great that the Gotham has significantly improved your system. My last two purchases were not expected or planned. When the MC3500 came out I realized that if I was ever going to purchase McIntosh tubes, this was the amp. When I fired it up and listened, I couldn't get it out of my system. It was simply better in all respects than my 1.25KW's. I had been wanting the big Mac amp for my Thor for a long time but had given up hope that it would ever happen. I did not like the MC2KW because of the binding posts. The 2.1KW is everything I want in a Mac solid state amp. It only made sense to bite the bullet and make the source upgrade too. In the future I plan to populate the new preamplifier with some Wilson Pedestals. I'm looking forward to seeing your next upgrade to your fabulous system.
