I didn't expect a response until this morning but in just over 30 minutes Laura emailed me back to let me know my request had been taken care of. Then late last night at 12:50 AM my time I decided to email Laura again, thinking she would see the email this morning. To my utter surprise she responded back at 1:13 AM my time. In my book that is exceptional customer service. Kudos to Schiit Audio's team.

See the emails below. All email time stamps are Pacific Standard Time so add three hours to equal Eastern Standard Time for my location.

Hi Laura,

Hello,

Thank you for notifying us. We have left a note in your order that you would like the silver finish. We will be shipping a silver Yggdrasil.

Hi Laura,

I have reconsidered my color choice and have decided I prefer the silver Yggdrasil instead of the black. Kindly let me know you have received this email, deleted the special order for black, and are able to ship a silver Yggdrasil to complete this order.

Regards,
Dan Daniell
Their service is top notch indeed. One of my Valhalla 2 headphone amp tubes got noisy in the left channel all of a sudden. One email to Schiit and a replacement set is on the way.

RH stated that he listened to the Yggy a couple times in the first few days and was not impressed. He said Mike Moffatt warned him that the Yggy wouldn’t sound good right out of the box, so he left it powered on for a full month before returning to listen again. He then stated, "When I returned to the Yggy I discovered a DAC that wasn’t superb. It wasn’t even good. And it certainly wasn’t “good for the money.” What I discovered, to my amazement, was a DAC that was stunningly great, period. Price aside, the Yggy turned out to be a world-class contender in the same league as cost-no-object digital-to-analog converters—and I’ve heard some good ones." What I find most interesting about those comments is Robert Harley is not known as a reviewer who gushes about audio components, so I have to believe his reaction to the Yggdrasil's performance is genuine and sincere. This is encouraging for me.

I do plan to write a full review of the Schiit Audio Yggdrasil DAC but it may be awhile coming because I plan to allow the Yggy plenty of time to blossom fully before I pass judgement on its performance. Like you said, patience will be rewarded.

Dan .... I read the same review today at lunch after following this thread. I too was knocked out by RH’s comments. What a ringing endorsement. Heck, it has me wondering if I should try one out too. Of course, if I were to follow through, I would try to get a black one. Been down that road before. Congrats on your new acquisition. Who knows. Maybe a 2nd one might find its way into your main system, if for nothing else than a different flavor. I’m starting to believe in Schiit digital. [emoji1303]

I was aware of that review. I'm just quietly and patiently waiting until one day you can't contain yourself and gush all over AA about your own YggY.

Of course I expect to see some Norse Mythology in Dan's review as has become customary here in the Schiit forum.
