I’d recommend keeping it in the McIntosh family. Just because. All of the McIntosh preamps made in the last 10 years have HT passthrough. C500 is a deal right now.

I was initially interested in the D1100 but that is unable to provide the passthrough function. I’m enjoying the C1100 and it is really great. Beautiful 2-channel music and perfect passthrough for HT.

Guess it would depend on your budget. The JC2 BP was a very nice improvement when taking over 2 Ch duties from my MX 150. I don't think you can beat it for the money. I eventually went with the C1100, and at 3X the price, I found the Parasound to be an amazing buy.
