P.S. Like Serge said, never knew such things existed. What will they think of next?

Default What do you guys use for Buttkickers/transducers/seat shakers/etc?

They are just a transducer (shaker) bolted to the furniture frame that attempts to correlate to frequency response in the unheard but felt range. They should be adjusted to give a subtle fill, but even then they activate during quiet music passages in a manner that I found unpleasant. The design is primitive so I would think a knockoff would work as well as an original.

These things are a mechanical “fix” for the inability of the sound gear to energize the room in the under 40H range. For a dinosaur movie, yes. For house music recorded digitally, no. YMMV.

A couple of the local theaters have then installed in several seats. You have to pay extra for those spots and I did try them out for a couple of shows. Will not do it again as it was nothing memorable.

I may patent this idea.
The “Climatic Cinematic”
Speaker output to a relay that controls a latch which in turn releases the spring. Position such box in front of yourself, aimed high at the head, lower at the gut, or lower still... (your preference). Warning: climatic movie moments will leave you on the floor unconscious, bent over and breathless or in fetal position in tears. Climatic Cinematic guarantees an unforgettable movie experience or your money back.

My Buttkicker is being crated for shipment!

I tried some in my theater in Minnesota. I was never able to get them "just right", even with crazy filtering plus leveling and equalization.

Thanks, Serge. I was really pleased to see the car there that day; you don't see many 956s in the USA as Porsche only raced the 962s.
