Default Digital journey - D150, my quick overview

Bonjour,

I went today from sinology-sonosW4s-MCD500 to sinology-macmini/audivarna-MC D150.

Clearly a step ahead!

What I “lost”: As everything is much more detailed, precise, voices/medium are a bit in front, brighter ? But this can be easily mitigate by the MEN. My ears prefer…
What I won : A lot ! A much bigger image, really seems like I have new speakers, music fill the whole room. More realistic stage, studio or live, absolutely no doubt where instruments are.Stereo image is also improved. Very precise, real, it brings details. Bass are firmer which is perfect for my system and my Jbl.
A new harmony very very pleasant, from james bowman, shirley horn to eagles…You 're closer to the studio or stage.

Even if MCD500 has a great dac, this is a real joyful improvement for me.I swim into my bits, in a warmer water, since few hours. On some songs I forgot totally blue eyes in front of me…Absolutely zero regrets.

Tests made with : Cds, Flacs and qobuz

PS: Audioclassics and Mike are great…

The D150 is a great piece to have. I use mine with my MCT450 but would love to be able to somehow extract the digits from my iTouch 6gen to send directly to the D150. Not sure if that is even possible.

Apple lightning to USB cameral adapter, about $29.00. Attach a USB Type A to USB Type B cable and you're good to go. Works perfectly, it just won't charge your device. It works with both my iPad mini and my iPhone 6s. In fact, my iPad and my iPhone are now the only sources I use. All my music is ripped to them in AIFF so I get an exact digital copy.

The newer Apple lightning to USB 3 adapter will charge your i-device at the same time, but it costs $10.00 more and needs an additional cable for connection to an outlet for power.

I have both adapters but prefer the $29.00 model because of the lack of an additional charging cable. Also, the lightning to USB 3 adapter gives me a prompt that says it's not compatible with my device even though it does work, the $29.00 model doesn't do that to me. Basically, either one allows me to send a digital signal from my i-device to my DAC, I just prefer the simpler adapter.
