If I may jump in here... When I had an arm on my Avid (long story...) I used the Stillpoints LPI on it. Yes, it doesn't press the record firmly down onto the platter like the screwdown clamp, but I felt the sound was just as good with either. The Stillpoints LPI was far more convenient on those long, lazy evenings just listening and relaxing. Some LPs gave better bass weight with the screwdown though, so it was still used sometimes!

Jean-Marc... the spindle is threaded, but I just put the clamp on as any other table. It fits fine, and does its magic.

Excellent review Dan! I've been enjoying my LPI for around a year or so and think you're spot on with the analysis.

Mitch

Mitch.......Good to know that long term use verifies my initial impressions. Thank you.

I just returned from the Post Office where the Postmaster was kind enough to weigh my Stillpoints LP Isolator. The actual weight measured 23.5 ounces. My original guess of 24 ounces (1.5 lbs.) was pretty darn close.

Thanks Dan. I read 24oz somewhere, so 23.5 it is! I spoke with the guys at Oracle and they are interested to hear me report back on my experience with the LP Isolator on the Delphi MkII.

Steve.......You read 24 ounces in my review. That was my guesstimate of it's weight without having a scale to verify the accuracy. I was very surprised when the Postmaster told me 23.5 ounces was the actual weight of the Stillpoints LP Isolator. My guess was very close.

It was on the MusicDirect website where I first saw the weight. Regardless, now we know exactly what it weighs!
