Congrats Dan....I'm interested in the stillpoints for my MCD/MDA1000 combo. I'd like them to screw into the bottom of the units...which if I understand correctly I'd either have to go with Ultras or custom minis.

At any rate, I better stay away from this thread as I have some other things in front of the stillpoints on my "list". If I hang out here too long I could end up in trouble!

So I am considering adding isolation to my MX135 & D100 but I have questions regarding this "leap of faith" as Dan so aptly coined the upgrade.

1. Do the Stillpoint Ultra Mini units replace the OEM feet or are they placed in other locations?

2. If you keep the OEM feet on the units how much do the Mini units add to the overall component height?

3. Are there other Stillpoint products to consider for the pre-amp and DAC or are the Mini units the preferred model?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Michael.......The Stillpints Ultra Mini's lifted my C1000C and C1000P about 1/4" off their factory feet. I have not removed the factory feet on the preamp, controller, or the K-03.

Yes, there are other Stillpoints footers. Ivan can fill you in on them.

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, there is nothing unique about any Mac gear and the potential for improvement with Stillpoints. Almost any component will benefit. Placement is a case by case experiment. Trust your ears. Mini's are the cheapest starting point, but Ultra SS's and the 5's will probably deliver even better results. Once the OEM feet are off the deck, it doesn't matter if you remove them or not. Your dealer should be willing to loan you a bunch of the different sizes for experimentation. Warning: this will probably result in your spending far more than you originally anticipated!

Mike.......Thank you. I listened to the studio sound system last night from 8:00 PM until 1:00 AM. The synergy between the equipment, the speakers, and every other performance enhancement, Wireworld, Stillpoints, PurePower 2000, PS Audio Soloist Supreme, dedicated power, acoustically treated room, Master Speaker Placement, and other things all come together to deliver a truly astonishing audio performance. Last night I found myself bumping the volume up more than once because it sounded so good. Adding the Stillpoints under the C1000C/P and the K-03 has been icing on an already delicious cake.

Dan, I aspire to get to where you are. I'm still in the process of building my system. To hear how much you enjoy your system is music to my ears. Enjoy it in good health. Many, many years of happy listening!

Hey guys. I have some Ultra SS's on the way for my Martin Logans. Currently I am using Symposium Precision Couplers under my c2600 preamp and m452 amp...Both are on Ultra platforms as well.

Some of you stated that going from Rollerblocks to the Ultra Minis provided immediate improvement. Do you think there will be an added layer of improvement going from couplers to the minis? I think the amp would need something else.

Default Stillpoints Ultra Mini's under my McIntosh C1000C/P preamplifier

Yes. Added layer of improvement.

Few years back, i compared symposium rollerblock 2+ versus ultra mini. It was a close call but the Mini's were better, encompassing all the improvements brought out by the symposium products and then some.

They will be considerably better than the aluminum precision couplers without any doubt.

I sold all my symposium shelving when i dove into Stillpoints and the rollerblocks all went into storage. You will love your new Stillpoints!
