That is a fantastic report, Bart. Looks like you enjoyed a great visit and I'm glad you met Bernardo.

Did you also meet the guy I told you about -Eduardo Balasz at Musicland? Equipment not really their forte but a very good place to find records, SACDs, HDCDs etc.

I go to Chile every few months and, as you said, their sense of hospitality is brilliant which definitely goes against that reputation of theirs ("Chile the most hated country in S America"). Love it, have several friends down there and my wife often hinted she'd like to move to Santiago haha.

Looks like you've done a bit of walking. Las Condes, Providencia, the Costanera Center and Parque Arauco areas... nice.

I do resent you for not stopping by in BA, though. Would have loved to have you meet my family, see my modest / tiny audio room and -much more importantly- treated you to my favourite steakhouse in Palermo.

Hope there's a chance at some point!

Hola Fernando!

Musicland is for my next visit. Thank you for reminding me.

Indeed, Las Condes is where I started my walk, and where my daughter lives.
You seem to know my second motherland quite well.
Have you gone to 'Boragó' already?
What a treat...

Air France used to fly over Buenos Aires, now we have direct flights.
Still a travel of almost 22 hours, door to door.
But I promise you I'll find the time to visit you somewhere in the next years.

Been to Boragó, yes -very special, unique!

Also in Santiago I often dine (and wine, he-he) in either La Mar, or in Ox down Nueva Costanera. Early December I've got a tournament there, can't wait to come for a real Patagonian risotto down there.

Such an uplifting thread -- wish the country & people continue to thrive financially & his business succeeds. He's amassed a nice store front of equipment and it is well presented.

I recognize a C3.1 -- still love them -- and hope he sells it in order to jump the line to a D3.1 for his potential clients.

Thanks Sir -- love this kind of story.

Bob

Hi Bob, thank you, my pleasure.
Yes, the C3.1s sounded good with the Berliners!

How cool. I spent some time in Chile in the early 2000's. Santiago is a special place.
