Anyone know where they are on the list?

I sent mine in the first week of October and got it back the middle of November. So 6 weeks is what it took. Good thing I have a large CD collection...

Do you mean that you are allocated May or June 2014 for the upgrade? If that is the case maybe it will be a quick turnaround. I did not get on a list as far as I know. My dealer just sent it in.

I tend to agree with Hansen that the best thing would be for everyone to get behind a single format.

I would to get Hansen's take on Sony's announcement and the new Acoustic Sounds online store and whether that changes his perception of DSD's viability as a format. I know a few items have popped up on the store that are DSD only- not on HD tracks but there is not much. Ugh, I think a new format war would be terrible. I was sort of hoping 192khz would eventually, years from now, replace mp3 as the dominant download format but now it seems DSD is lurking again.
Ayre already has beta firmware out that adds DSD128 to the QA-9, the QB-9 appears to be next.

I informed my dealer in April or May I think. I never thought the wait would be this long. If they are messing with firmware that adds DSD 128 then that is exciting news. I have no idea what is going on with this upgrade. They clearly either can't meet the demand or are revising the specs. Dealer says sit tight and it is worth the wait, but at this point I am starting to wonder what is going on and I wish Ayre would fill me in.

I think it would be worth your time to call Ayre customer service directly. They are really great and actually seem to like talking with their customers. I spoke with Michael in customer service a couple of weeks ago and he told me the 128 upgrade would not require sending back my unit. It will be a chip upgrade that the dealer can install. He was not sure when it would be available, only that it is in the works.

I was told I had a three week turnaround, but that's because I bought a new one. Will report my impressions when I get it going...

I need to find a laptop to stream digital to the QB. Thinking about a MacBook Air. It would be dedicated to that purpose (a music source only).
