Default Shindo Silver Review

Dagogo's Jack Roberts has put together some words on the Shindo silver IC and SCs... good read... especially since info on the Shindo speaker cables tends to be a bit of a precious commodity... the review is reasonably brief but even a little of something good is better than nought at all

AS,

It was definitely interesting, but at $2,200 per foot for those it's incredibly pricey! I have 4M cables as it stands right now, so I'd be looking at around $30,000 for the shindo ones - ouch!

Actually, that's a typo -

The cables are $2.2k per *meter pair*. Much more reasonable !

Another reason to get the mono blocks and set them right next to your 0/96s. Then you could run long interconnects at half the price!

I think that is the recommended approach anyway.

Actually, short interconnects and long speaker wire sounds better, from my experience. Signal coming from preamp to amp, is delicate. Keep it short. Long speaker wire is a relative term, of course. Depends completely on room size and configuration.

This is what I do at my store and what my customers do. Keep the gear in one location, and run appropriate speaker wire to speakers.

If the gear is in the middle of the system, speaker wire tends to be short anyway.

Thanks for clearing that up Matt... bit of a scary typo but even scarier is that in the current world of audio $$$ stratospherics that even the mistake price point seemed scary but not necessarily beyond belief... I noticed that in the Absolute Sound that Jonathon Valin's CES blog of speakers over 25k stretched to some 9 pages and that's only the ones worth talking about... seems to me that while Shindo gear can seem quite an investment that in terms of the sonic returns and the happiness longevity is not soooo scary anymore.
