It's been slow around here ... so this is my new project.
I built this Gazebo in the backyard for my wife. And of course I needed to have music if I am going to sit out there for any period of time.
We have a JVC mini system, which is actually a funny story behind it. I sold it to my wife about 25 years ago when I worked at Circuit City. She had just graduated High School and came in to buy a stereo. I looked her up in the computer after she left and called her up and asked her out. Needles to say, I did return the stereo and repurchase it with my employee discount. I placed the JVC in our kitchen pantry, drilled a hole through the wall to run the speaker wires through (actually used CAT5 cable because I have a ton of it and for outdoor speakers, not a big deal). Went to BestBuy and picked up a pair of their Insigna Indoor/Outdoor speakers for $39 a pair. I mounted them to the opposing poles, might even get another set and have them on all 4 poles. I connected a Google Chromecast Audio to the JVC to stream Spotify. <- Until I can set up a cheap Roon endpoint. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Sounds better than most bluetooth speakers and more permanent. So this is what I have been up to ... keeping busy. Oh yeah and I forgot to mention it has been over 100 degrees every day since Sunday in Sacramento, which was not fun building a gazebo. Here's a couple quick pics of the project.
