Default Any Jeep (or other 4wd) fans?

I spent the day navigating dirt roads in the Cherokee National Forest. There's enough dirt to stay off the pavement for hours. My hard core off-roading days are behind me (too old and lazy), but I still enjoy a day in the woods.

By going on a weekday I just about have the place to myself (except for redirecting a family that was lost). It's very relaxing and a bunch of fun.

So, today I got to wondering if any other AA'ers love the same thing. If so, chime in. And...... it didn't happen if no pics :-)
Gary

Hmmmm..... not sure what I've done to mess up this photo. Will try again later. Sorry.

I did a little off roading, dirt roading and other roading last week around some reservoirs in NorCal.

It really made a mess of the detail job I did to the truck the week before! Had a good time though.

This is in Death Valley at the Barker Ranch...famous because this is where Manson holed up and was busted.

We didn't see a single person for 24 hours when we stayed here.

Just a stock '04 land cruiser here, but I love it. Hauls dogs, horses, stereo stuff, skis, bikes and boats perfectly. It'll do all those things in the snow and mud! Love those photos though - I take my 'cruiser to ACC in Atlanta and get all crazy about tricking it out every time I go there. Then, I think about how much time and money all of those other pursuits take and the feeling subsides ....

Gary,
Sounds like a fun day! Off roading in Cherokee on a weekday must be nice. Retirement looks like something I need to experience.
