Congrats to Dan for acquiring the unit, and continue to be amazed by Dan’s expertise at everything

I have a Cyberpower unit, which generate true sine waves as well, protecting my Roon server and external hard drives, although I don’t really think it’s mandatory if you have your files backed up. I keep multiple nightly backups in multiple NAS and HDDs.

Han.......I am definitely not an expert at everything, but I am a legend in my own mind. .

Good to hear you are getting solid service from your CyberPower UPS. You may not consider uninterruptible power as mandatory, but it is definitely preferable to having to rebuild files from a backup if data loss occurs due to a power loss. Cheap insurance, if you ask me.

The morning thunderstorms have turned into a day of continuous thunderstorms. Momentary power losses have happened on and off all day. I am feeling smug and secure with the new APC UPS backup protecting my Aurender N100H music server.

I realize a UPS is not some sexy audio component like a new DAC or fancy amplifier. That is most likely the reason interest in this topic seems low, but the peace of mind that backup power affords me for my music servers makes it mighty cheap insurance for protection from possible data corruption of the operating system or my music files on the server hard drive. For me it makes sense to maintain clean power on my music server despite what the utility power may be doing.
