Whether the NR V10/12, etc. incorporated newer techniques not in the current (sorry) Delta NR.
Venom NR V10:
  • fully shielded
  • no VTX geometry
  • third-party (Marinco maybe?) connectors

Delta NR:
  • unshielded (winding of the conductors acts as a shielf to reject RFI/EMI; performs better without shield)
  • VTX geometry
  • Shunyata CopperConn connectors

Re: the noise reduction filter, Caelin addressed in post #10 of this thread: https://www.audioaficionado.org/show...7&postcount=10. Shunyata has confirmed to me that the Delta noise reduction is slightly better than the Venom NR's (which itself is listed as >12dB @ 1mHz), and that all the current "NR" cables have measurably better noise reduction than the older Alpha cables.

Just a minor correction. We need to update our website specification. The Delta is a shielded cable.

Where did you read this? I can't find where it is mentioned that the NR in the Delta's are better than the NR in the Venom line.

thanks, good to know. So to summarize, NR tech in the Delta are better than the NR tech in the Venom V10 and V12. The Venom V14 D has additional filtering best suited for transports, flat screens, computers, routers, etc.

Which would offer the best bang for the buck. A Venom NR V10 (Rega Elicit-R) and Venom V14 Digital (Rega Saturn-R), or two NR12 (amp and cdp)? Both combos fit my budget. Replace a Ven Haus on the amps and an Acrolink on the cdp.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone using the Venom NR V10 on a power conditioner? I'm trying one out that came in today on my Ps Audio Dectect replacing an Perfectwave AC12 , I'll admit to being a little concerned about going from 8awg to 10awg but hey the dedicated line is 10awg so all should be fine . I'm letting it settle in for a few days before any real impressions but very good out the box.
