I got a chance to briefly audition the MX100 at my dealer's yesterday. I have to say that compared to the Marantz pre-pro he had in there, this one is better. I'm not sure what's under the hood, but it sounded really great. Very clean and punchy. Looks very good, too. In all, I think this is a solid unit.

I was finally able to pick up the MX100 and MI347 yesterday. I did some quick setup... just basically swapping out old for new. I have a Tivo, AppleTv and an Xbox (blueray) connected. All of those are 4k devices with DolbyVision etc I’ve only briefly tried each of those to make sure they all work...no handshake issues etc. Of course the AppleTv had some handshake issues with DolbyVision enabled but that was easily corrected with a cable change.

I like that you can make configuration changes via browser and not just via the push/click/turn button method. I was also not expecting the included Audyssey tripod and microphone stand to be of such high quality. Impressive.

That’s it for now. I’ll get Audyssey setup this weekend and see how I like it. It hasn’t really been something I’ve liked in the past but I’ll give it another try.

I’ll also get some movie watching in to put it thru its paces and report back.

I’d love to see under the cover of the 100. I wonder if it’s the same mic and stand that came with the MX123.

Curious how it compares to the MX123 and AV8005

Hello. I am curious about these 2 products.... MX100 and MI347. Your thoughts and a brief review would be much appreciated.

IMHO, yes. I’ve heard several of these in systems from modest to OMG, and the MX100 has sounded great in all of them. In some cases, I’ve heard it back to back with Anthem and Marantz’s flagship. Also very respectable - just a different flavor of fantastic in those comparisons. I will be replacing my Marantz AV 8802a with an MX100, soon. It’s a perfect fit for me.

My room is a challenge and the audio correction system is a concern - The Mx100 is using Audussey and not Lyngdorf room correction - Any thoughts???
