Indeed!

So the new price point of 804/803 slots between the outgoing 802D2. That is something and really looking forward to seeing what new technologies they are bringing!

If these numbers are accurate, i would say they just lost a big chunk of their price advantage relative to many of their competitors. Not sure which dealers move most of the B&W product, but at those prices BestBuy/Magnolia wont be selling many of them.

Kevlar is gone. From a dealer standpoint the main concern is that the price difference between the new 800 and everything under is huge. They expect an upgraded line to fill the void. Only time (and a listen...) will tell if B&W made the right decision to increase the prices this much...
What about 805? Are those still being made?

B&W Benelux (those small countries in Europe ) will cut 800 series dealership from 30 to 12 with only 3 left for the 800 Diamond and with strict demands for listening rooms and other requirements, I presume this strict policy and cutting dealers applies worldwide.

Yes they do, if my memory serves me right it's 7000 euro per pair but I could be off. Dealers are worried about the huge increase to go from CM bookshelfs to new 805, there's nothing in between for customers, I believe the PM1 is discontinued (shame I used to have them).

So...B&W moves upmarket and goes after the growing worldwide market of wealthy consumers. I wish them well. We should all keep in mind that while these prices are higher than in the past, they are still "affordable" by Magico/Wilson/Raidho standards for statement products. I'm sure the products will be spectacularly good. Never doubt the capabilities of a company like B&W.

Thanks for the info. I agree, the elimination of the PM1 AND a fairly large price increase really does leave a huge hole in the lineup. But then again, maybe there aren't many of us willing to spend so much on 2-way bookshelf speakers.
