Maybe this picture makes more justice to its beauty.

Only doubt I would have is that F.P. Journe also makes some weird (to me) watches and I'm not sure about long term value retention on that brand.
I would rate this a "low" buy - for the following reasons:

1. A watch, to me, without a date is not complete, per se.
2. Its quite ordinary looking and for the price JP calls, difficult to justify.
3. The resale value is also not great plus there aren't many collectors out there looking for it.

I know, cause a friend of mine bought one at S$52k, and till today, can't even sell it for half that amount.

Lange, Rolex, Patek (their latest Calatrava looks great) had more value and certainly, a model that will suit you better. Look elsewhere my friend.

BUT thats my view. In the end, buy what your heart loves. We are but giving OUR opinions. In the end, what you WANT matters.

Happy hunting - with your heart and love!

I agree.

IMHO the Lange Saxonia is a vastly superior watch to the JP and it's slightly cheaper.
