I am assuming his opinion is prefaced on me performing room treatments. I heard the speakers in a room not much larger than mine, but it did have a much higher ceiling.

I have talked to Andy having visited his facility with my dealer some years ago and found him to be a straight shooter and not promotional so I would definitely avail yourself of his advice and expertise.

Great suggestion.

You can always look at the Rockport Alya speakers which are ideal for your space and are great speakers by themselves if you like the Rockport sound. I use them in my New York apartment with Burmester and DCS electronics. Normally I use Magico Q5 and M3 speakers in my main house.

Any thoughts on how the Alyas might do with tube electronics? I noticed they are a little less efficient than the Atrias. I currently have solid state, but am looking at a change to tubes.

I know that they work great with Viva tube amps from Italy , specially with the integrated one. I listened to various Rockports including the Alya with the Viva amps and the results were great. Unfortunately due to my space constraints in NY I had to with solid state.

I've noticed in CES reports a mention of an Atria II. I asked my dealer about this and he was told there was no such. He told me he confirmed with Rockport. Has anyone else heard about a new Atria speaker?

I totally understand your doubts about your small room. As they already told you, I give you the advice to speak with Andy Payor. Despite I'm living in Italy, I called him and he helped me a lot to have the right choice with my loudspeaker. Now I'm enjoying the amazing sound of the Rockport Avior (almost twin sister of the Atria's). The Rockport sound it is very high level

I called Mr. Payor last Monday. He is a very straight forward and down to earth person. We talked about the room size and music preferences. In the end, he agreed with the dealer on the choice of the Atria.
