Faster, easier swapping of amps/speakers.

Or were you referring to sound? In that case, not so much.

Kal -

I meant sound.. I figured probably more secure with spades but easier to swap with bananas but sound probably not too big a difference.

The AQ bananas are very secure and inspire confidence.

Kal, how is it you find that bananas are easier to disconnect/reconnect vs spades? Isn't it just a matter of twisting i.e. losseing/tightening the binding posts? So more or less the same amout of effort as bananas, all done by hand?

In practice, no. I can reach down and, with one hand, pull off or insert both +/- cables with the bananas. Using spades, I need two hands, especially with the reinsertion.

Basically the rationale for why God invented banana plugs and mankind adopted them. Easier.

+1 I also prefer spades but I'm constantly tinkering around almost never ending thus bananas are so much easier. Easier too if ya need to quickly reverse polarity in bi-amped or multi-amped systems.

I guess the question is about which provides more contact - I remember reading some articles (forgot the sources), all states spade provides more contact than banana and is the standard in recording studios.

I then re-terminated some of my bananas with AQ spades. Did I see/hear any sonic improvement, I would say no. It is just a peace of mind of optimizing all possible to ends to get maximum juice out of our gear .
