Mono cable is required to accomplish what you want at least on the c2500 it should be the same with yours.

I then tried the D100 fixed level outputs (DAC) to a C2500 pre and was amazed at the improvement. This left me with impression that the D100 is a good performing DAC but not so good as a pre.
I would think the C2600 DAC portion is on par or better than the D100. That along with other analog improvements should make the C2600 an outstanding performer.
Anyway, sounds like Yggdrasil + C22 is a killer combination. Enjoy!
Absolutely -- the D100 as a DAC is very good. Mine was one of the "clicking" D100s, however, and despite several trips to the dealer and McIntosh the problems was never solved.

I agree that the 2600 is a superb unit. Really enjoyed my time with it and could have lived very happily with it.

Enjoy yours, OP!

Great. This works.

What I found out from more testing. Lets say the MC units are turned on first and then one decides to turn on the AVR, the meter lights will turn off on the MC unit (as should). If one decided to turn off the AVR and go back to the MC units to listen to music, the preamp meter light will still be off but the amp is will lid up.

I am using main trigger from pre to amp.

it's actually very sad that mcintosh didn't do a better implementation .

when you program the trigger functions with an AVR, once you turn on the AVR, if you want to gain control back of the Preamp, you have to turn it off.

Don't know if this is normal. When I turn on my old bluray player (during the initialization process) connected via optical, I hear a pop twice on the right speaker. At the same time, I can see the meter indicator moving up a little too. I tried different optical port and wire with same result. I don't have another disc player. Will buy an Oppo soon when it matures.

Btw, under 10% volume, you can't hear it. I have to much time now

My MC452 has arrived but my C2600 is on a 6 week back order [emoji15]
Fortunately my dealer allowed me to take the floor model until mine arrives
IMG_3659.JPGIMG_3661.JPG

I have managed to wire it all up to my existing Emotiva XPR5 until my new rack arrived for the MC452 and remaining gear.

I am having a problem with the passthru from my AVR. I am using the passthru to my AVR trigger 1 as when I power on my AVR all other devices powered on in sequence. This immediately sets the C2600 to passthru mode. However if I want to listen to 2 channel I have to physically remove the passthru cable??

When displaying passthru I cannot change anything on the C2600

Thoughts and suggestions most welcome.
My prior pre amp allowed me to switch HT bypass on or off from the pre amp itself

Default C2600....

Akitared - When using passthru, it is normal for the C2600 to immediately enter passthru mode when you turn on your AVR. It is also normal not to be able to change anything on the C2600 when in passthru mode since the AVR is controlling the surround sound for all speakers. To listen to 2-channel, you do not need to remove the trigger cable. You would turn the AVR off and turn on the C2600 directly. If you have a second trigger between the C2600 and your 2-channel amp, the preamp would also turn it on. The key is that the AVR needs to be off when listening to 2-channel. Hope this helps.

Ahh that helps a little but I find I need my AVR on so that I can use my Subwoofer too in 2 Channel mode (i know heretical) [emoji4]

You can get a video switch box. I run my sub to c47 pre amp out out to from switch box, that you can get at Radio Shack
Then run one to pre amp C47 and the other to the LFE of your Home theater processor. This way you can use your sub 2 channel and also in your home theater setup.
