We're as good as it gets: Intelligent life is extremely UNLIKELY
I have already posted the "fine tuning of the universe" discussion with our most brilliant scientific minds. There are plenty of great youtube interview videos on that.
Here is another very interesting article. In my mind it is directly related to the same topic although it is worded differently. The main point here is not that "intelligent life" is extremely rare, they have to word it so as not to draw attention to the extremely unlikely odds that WE ourselves are here.... The rest is up to you to decide (creator? matrix? Simulated reality? Pure luck with extremely unlikely odds of abiogenesis and evolution?) Oxford researchers outline the various evolutionary steps to human existence These steps take longer than a planet is actually habitable before its star dies What's happened on Earth is unlikely typical of what happens on other planets Read it carefully and think about how unlikely or unreasonably and illogically lucky we are... In a new paper, Oxford researchers theorise that, for life to evolve in the same way elsewhere in the universe, it would take longer than the whole of Earth's projected lifespan. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...7kXqrDH-z_uPnQ Last edited by PHC1; 12-02-2020 at 11:57 AM. |

Unlikely as it is that we even exist, it’s arrogant to think that we are the only intelligent life.

If we are truly alone however, well..... then that opens up a whole can of all kinds of questions. |

I'm still trying to find signs of intelligent life here.
LOL. OK, not exactly true, but I crack myself up. I'm of the mindset that we are not alone in the universe - pretty big place.

Anyone capable of reaching us at this point would probably say exactly that!

In what way does mankind make a positive contribution to this planet?
I can't think of a single one - but I am open to suggestions. |

We don't. Never did. Evolution was a curse. If it wasn't for us, all the other "less intelligent" creatures would go on living in perfect harmony forever. Say it isn't so!

Yes, the odds are long and they are getting longer by the day if you are looking for intelligent life on this planet as well.

Why would you think that we have to make a positive contribution to this planet. We use it just like all life on it does. The idea to do a little harm as possible has its merits and I'm all for that.
