I already have the 18-200 mm lens (which is great, by the way), so I will probably give the 18-105 mm to my daughter to use on her D40. I still have my D700 with several FX lenses (like the 24-70 mm f2.8), but I'm really looking forward to using the lighter weight D7000 + 18-200 mm combo, especially for traveling, holiday photos, etc.

Our local dedicated camera store is very competitive and seems to have stock when no one else does.
I looked at the D3100 and D7000, and decided on the D7000 because I can use my Nikkor AI primes on the 7000, plus it has awesome low light performance for use with my Celestron telescope. I like the idea, at least, of having a single wide range lens. Not sure if the optical quality will be there, but I've heard good things about the 18-200 so I made the jump. The package you purchased is a smokin' deal. The hard part for me will be waiting for Christmas!
