Default R.I.P. Chester Bennington [Linkin Park]

Very sad news,....a band that helped define a generation of music, spoke real issues through their music, etc...has lost their front-man to suicide.

Extremely tragic loss of a great and singularly unique talent in the music world and father of 6.

https://www.yahoo.com/music/watch-la...200444397.html

He leaves behind a family with 6-children, a band and fan-base that was shocked yesterday at the news that arrived on what would have been the 53rd birthday of his friend Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) who left this world via suicide on May 18th.

RIP Chester...you should have stayed.

Such a shame -- so sad really.

Wishing the best to his entire family during their time of mourning.

Bob

I don't feel sorry for Chester Bennington or Chris Cornell. They both got exactly what they determined they deserved. Their selfish, conceited behavior scared their families and they could not have cared less. That is the saddest part. No reason for me to care about either of these two self absorbed individuals in the least.

I don't feel sorry for them any more than I feel sorry for Cobain, Morrison or anyone else (which is to say not at all) who either overtly or accidentally committed suicide. The tragic nature of this is the loss to their families, children especially (Bennington had 6), friends, fans and the world of music or comedy (Williams, et. al), or art, etc.....

Suicide is the ultimate chickent-sh&* move regardless of whether you do it on purpose or through a lifestyle of stupidity and addiction. The real gutsy move is to stick it out, fight your demons and live life.

In the end....

I didn't know Chester or Chris and can understand some of the reasons people wouldn't feel sorry for them but some commit suicide for reasons beyond their power. Chemical imbalances, severe depression, & certain drug interactions, have all been responsible for suicides. I don't know why they did it but I'm not going to assume anything either. RIP

As someone who's family has directly faced suicide, I can assure everyone that it is neither a choice, nor a selfish act.

Thank you...Several years ago I lost two friends. Although the unanswered questions haunt me to this day and I do understand some remarks made in this thread...they hurt nontheless. I can only say, be grateful if you never had the abyss staring back at you.
