My original thought was, does Neil even have a "most beautiful song". Then I read Jim's response and have to agree. Let someone else sing his lyrics. Perhaps then there just may be a beautiful song or two.

hmmm.....'beautiful' is an awfully subjective term....

I like the message in 'When God Made Me'.

For blend of beauty in lyrics and music, I'd have to go with 'Here for You', which I believe he wrote as he was sending his daughter out of the nest, something with which many can relate. First stanza:

Original poster asked for the "most beautiful" song, not just our favorites. My choice for that is the "A Man Needs A Maid / Heart Of Gold" suite the way he used to do it in the early 70's. Listen to that track on the Live At Massey Hall album it you wanna feel like you're there.
