This may be very difficult depending on the way the speaker is designed.

I was somewhat joking about the electrical interference. If you have a test tool that can or know someone who can measure RFI/EMI, that might prove useful. Priest is also a good recommendation

Hi, I turned off all lights, cut off main circuit breakers.
Still hum.

The hum is always constant in pitch and in loudness.
The level is very faint, limit of human hearing I guess,
Microphone on iPad can’t pick it.

It coming out from midrange drivers too besides woofers.

At this point I guess the inductors in crossover act like an antenna.

So with hum coming from both Mid and Woofer, I am not sure any more what is the origin source between LF or HF terminals.

The level of hum changed as I rotate the LF level knobs in front.

The speakers design allow for drivers and crossover removal easily.

ShAll I cover the crossover with something like this ?

The demagnetize track I tried did not help.

Hi, my main system is dead quiet in any situation.

The new Mcintosh system were all new to me.
Both Mac were used. Cables were mostly temporarily.
And the worse of all, each individual made its own hum .

The C2200 was the worst, it needed service for sure,
It hum strongly as soon as the message tube warmup gone.

The MC2102 made a very little hum..

The JBL hums by itself too.

So when all three combined, it was quite a challenge to
Identify for source of hum.

Hums from JBL and MC2102 I needed to put ears within a foot or so from speakers to hear. May be 1-2 dB loud.

Toga… research HARApad; available on Amazon. I use them with great success.

Oh and when both C2200 and MC2102 were plugged into different wall outlets . Very loud ground loop which came even before the message tube warm up gone. They must be plugged in to same wall receptacle for this to not be the problem.

But there was nothing like that when I use C47. Was the C2200 was faulty or because of being the older design?

Now happily streaming music from MOON mind2 into C47 DAC, although it just doesn’t have the glow of C2200 though.

If I have to locate a critical piece of sensitive electronic gear in very close proximity to an amplifier. Placing a HARApad which is only 1/4” thick between them, eliminates any type of RF/EFI interference.

Thank you everybody for participated in this wrong topic I posted here.
It was not relate to MC2102 in anyway.

After discussion with JBL Field Support Engineer
Harman Luxury Audio Group, Lifestyle Division.

We had the same conclusion. It was caused by external interference.
Environmental related. We suspected main electrical room which
Is about 20 feet away from listening room but with thick concrete wall
In between.

I hope the speakers should be better designed to have better rejection of such common interference.

Thank you all for useful suggestions.
End of report.

Toga

Just throwing this out there…..I had a B&W ASW800 sub that developed a hum right after a nearby lightening strike. Caused issues with the onboard amplifier which required service. Maybe a crossover item has been damaged…???
