Default I replaced my Accuphase 900/901

Hi,
After years of giving me musical pleasure. I retired DP900/DC901.
With something that will aurprise you. I considered something like
DP/DC950, Esoteric Grandioso.. but I don't want to spend that much anymore
To enjoy music. Years ago I found a very musical player from Europe and I ordered one for my friend. It was Ayon CD1SX.
This time, I got my own Ayon CD35. A very good sounding CD player that
Happens to read SACD and decode native DSD. It is not SACD player like 900/901 so I have to keep 900/901 for occasional SACD playing.
CD35 performs far above my expectation for its price. I just hate its top load
Designs. Something like Burmester 089/069 will be better than this rice cooker
Disc cover.

Thanks.

I aslo like sound of CD1SX more than 900/901, but 1SX didn't have
resolution 900/901. But now with CD35 Signatire, it's a perfect mix between
Audiophile and music lover quality.

Before I got Accuphase I had Esoteric P03/D03. As I recalled I tried
Soulution 541, one Vitus, Metronome Kalista, Moon 750D, Burmester 089, DCS Puccini+ U Clock. Once I chose 900/901, I tried Ayon CD1SX And I was impressed. So once CD35 was out, I chose it without trying anything else. I didn't want to pay for top of the line stiffs anymore I am scaling down my system. Marantz SA10 was in my head too, but I didn't thunk it will beat 900/901 the way CD35 does.

P.S. 900/901 are still here on the rack. Not parting with the, anytime soon.

I sold my 900/901 at a great loss.

The silenzio / ps audio direct stream dac combination was the clear SQ winner in my system and it plays DSD and will soon play MQA (albeit in somewhat limited fashion). I rip cd's to disk via the silenzio and just don't miss SACD content.

I got the 900/901 in hopes of synergy with my other accuphase gear, but it just wasn't there to my ear, didn't play DSD and wasn't software upgradeable. I lost thousands on the matter, but am glad I made the change.

Love the accuphase stuff, but the digital kit didn't work for me.

I still have to keep 900/901 to play SACD. I admit I have less than 50 SACDs.
But most of them are classicals which Ayon cannot play it properly.
Ayon CD35 is a CD Player that happen to have a drive that can also read SACD, its DAC
is also DSD capable, but it is not designed to play SACD. When I use CD35 to play SACD,
I hear a noise like phono cartridge touching down between each track, and also a second
of silence added between each track too. Accuphase play SACD very smoothly without a glitch. Sonically, Ayon has a more pleasing mid band and stronger dynamic. It can also do
PCM>DSD conversion, DSD>DSD upsampling, two filter options.
I guess I will loss 40% if I sell 900/901 too, that's why I keep it for now.
