Painful.
Jim, the X-T2 is THE hottest camera on the market and Fuji literally cannot build them fast enough to meet demand. It was announced shortly after midnight in London July 7. And I pre-ordered mine from B&H within minutes of its announcement. It shipped on September 8, and I received mine on September 13. It has been back-ordered continuously since September 8. The demand for the camera completely outstripped Fujis forecast for it.The entire first production run was sold out worldwide literally within minutes, and Fuji had to very quickly had to ramp up production to meet it, but has still not been able to catch up so that there are not backorders, because the demand increased even further once actual reviews started to appear for the camera. Fuji actually issued a memorandum the next day apologizing for the fact that they had underestimated the demand forecast. Then they said no, there is no excuse, they simply must find a way to ramp up production. This camera is literally a game changer for mirrorless. Some of this was due, obviously, to the earthquake in Japan earlier this year. Customers that place orders with B&H photo, and Adorama usually receive them within 7 to 10 days. For smaller shops, it may take longer. This is why your local shop cannot tell you when it will be here, because they literally do not know. If you've seen all the videos that I have of tours to Fujifilm's X camera body and lens production facilities, you would understand that these guys do not mess around. This is the company that literally brought down Kodak in the photographic film industry. Think about that. This is why Hasselblad, Phase One, and Pentax are also (very) worried about the the advent of Fuji's new GFX medium format mirrorless digital camera. You can bet that Fuji is working very hard to be able to ship your camera to you as soon as possible.
