Dave , that's how you've got your W20 connected to the K10X?

Jazz,
No need for apologies, the more information the better! I connect mine with SPDIF because I'm using a clock. If I'm correct, asych USB does not carry a clock signal so I switched to a Transparent Digital cable. It is nice but duel AES/EBU would be ideal but our spinners don't support that connection. Are you using a clock?

Dave

Kevin,
Awesome news, you won't be disappointed. Keep us posted on your thoughts. I don't know if you're a cable guy or not but the BNC between the 2 makes a big difference in my system.

Ha ha. Cable guy? Our fearless leader knows I am- thanks to Ivan most of my cabling is WIreworld platinum ( except speaker cable- Gold eclipse and my phono cable). I have an Acrolink clock cable that I also got from Ivan just for this eventuality
It's been a while to get this room done what with a few things but I'll certainly report back.

Has anyone figured a way to use the W20 connected to the Rossini Clock where Roon sees the W20's files and the Rossini is the endpoint?

Sorry Jim, I have no experience with the Rossini and W20 but I'd love to hear it. There are some different configurations on the Aurender website but I don't remember if the Rossini was one of them.

On the site they show the Rossini and clock with the W20. What I am not sure about is how the W20 works within Roon. I would not want to be swapping between UI.

Jim

Is there a reason why you would want to use Roon as an endpoint when you connect a W20?

The aurender conductor app is really awesome and most people really love it.

You can also connect a NAS to it. However the w20 has 12tb so you can probably get quite a bit of music on there, in addition to a NAS.

I have used the Aurdnder ap at one of my dealers and although it isn't bad Roon to me is much easier.

The 12tb of space on the W20 would never be utilized in my setup. I routinely go through my music and cull albums that I no longer listen to. I have no desire to collect music that will never get played again or albums where I only want to listen to a track or two. In fact I just performed that task last week on a rainy day. I removed a bunch of albums from both my Roon and Sooloos servers, deleted the titles from my Music Collector data base and packed up the CD cases and dropped them as the Salvation Army store.
