I've driven all of the Macan's extensively. I own a Diesel Cayenne so am very familiar with that vehicle as well. The thing missing in the base and S/GTS Macan's is the torque. In my opinion the only Macan worth owning is the Turbo. The GTS is nothing exciting (my Cayenne Diesel is more fun to drive). Set up a day to drive them all and you will be able to quickly tell what excites you... let's face it, for what they cost, you should be grinning from ear to ear every time you drive it.

Dave - as a GM man you should be looking at the V6 Chevy Equinox LTZ. Leather, all the bells & whistles and 326hp. Am guessing it can keep up with all but the top Macan. My cart and full-length gun cases fit easily.

Glenn, my company vehicle, a Traverse LTZ which I love, is great. I'm giving some thought to retirement next year and thinking of going a little smaller and sportier at the same time.

Check out the BMW X series. I've owned 4 including a diesel and the X5M. Definitely all the sport you would ever need and plenty of cargo space. Price about the same as Macan

Loved my time with my Macan S, very sporty ride. My only complaint would be the lack of room in the back seat. If the Cayenne had dual clutch pdk transmission at the time I was buying I would have gone for that. If you want a small sporty SUV its a fun car.

That would be the Equinox LTZ. Comes with low-profile V-rated tires/wheels. Handles great. Can't say enough good things about retirement. Go for it.
