FS Accordo Vs. SF Olympica 2

I assisted a friend today choosing between these 2 speakers in a fairly large room;

It was no contest, the Little Franco Serblin is in a different class than the Olympica 2. The Olympica sounded thin and bright in comparison. The Accordo sounded so much more musical and involving. Music just flowed with such freedom. Lovely speakers. I suggested that he purchase the Accordo with a JL F110 V2.

Sorry, but Duh!!!! FS speakers are another level. SF of today is far less superior than the days when FS was part of company. RIP FS.

Thanks. They're the US distributor, but they don't list any dealers who carry FS. I'll contact them directly.

Thanks Ivan. My next step is probably a speaker upgrade and the Ktema has caught my eye. I don't suppose you know anywhere in the Pacific Northwest where I could see and hear them, do you?

According to a review by Toneaudio, the Accordo should only be used in a small room and doesn't pair well with any subwoofer. Not even JL.

The review states, "Forget a big room too. These speakers don’t have much deep LF output to begin with, so placing them in a large room makes them work way too hard, and adding a subwoofer takes away from the design ethos. As excellent at the REL and JL Audio subwoofers at my disposal are, they just don’t quite have the delicacy required to augment the Accordos, they always sounded better by themselves, even though I wished they had more bass at times."
