IMO! It all comes down to how the median is manufactured. It was painfully obvious in 1986 when CD's where released. They where painfully flawed ie "Joe Sample Spellbound", play that CD on a lesser system. Like everything else the process has gotten better. When I look at my collection CD's, it's only the pre 2002's CD's that I have issues with! It was a hit/miss on how the CD would sound. If it existed I'd want "Pat Metheny We live here" on LP. Pat's LP's have feel and sound that isn't conveyed via CD's. Yet it was the same for LP's in the manufacturing process. LP's in my collection prior to 1976 not so good as the ones produce after. What I would like find is a post 2002 CD vs. Master LP. Then do the A to B blind test!! I understand LP's today aren't made like in the glory days. Both median can make your toes curl with joy! Whilst both can give you the "WTF" look! I was deep into analog camp and prefer the middle ground . I enjoy the music so I live in both worlds. Neither median is perfect, just requires lots of cash to enjoy the pleasure.

I have a hard time living in the vinyl world but probably not for the reasons you might think. As I noted elsewhere in this thread I do not think vinyl or digital is inherently superior to the other.

The biggest problem I have with vinyl (other than the hassle of dealing with LP's) is the lack of content for the music I listen to. If you do not like Jazz, have a limited interest in Classical, and really do not want to listen to re-issues of the rock albums I wore out in the late 60's and 70's, then you are SOL.

I like vynyl a lot and I have a lot of it, but it's really a pain in the butt. Now, if i could hit the remote and it would skip a song or someone would run over and flip the lp over.......

I enjoy vinyl as well and when the LP is mastered right and in pristine condition the sound can be magical. No doubt getting the most from LP's is a effort and can be very expensive but it is all part of the hobby ie you have to be in the mood. I like the variety myself: finding new music off Pandora and Rhapsody, buying new CD's and LP's , its all good fun.
