The XRT1K's are like Thor's Hammer wrapped in velvet. Precise, punctual, never fatiguing, and immense in sheer strength, even on a measly MC402 (next in the upgrade path).
Yes, so what amp upgrade did you think of? MC501s or better
even like the upcoming MC851s?

Every day I have owned them is like the very first day - amazing. I cannot walk by them without stopping and sitting in the sweet spot for a while. They react beautifully to every little change I make. They have no volume limit and at the very lowest setting sound full and beautiful. You will be happy for a very long time. CONGRATIONS AND ENJOY.
Howard

Yes, Dan. I wholeheartedly agree. Those would be the winners - 3 on each side to be exact. Now if Ivan and Donna just decide to let one house go and I can get a sweet fire sale... one can dream, right?

Can someone tell me what E stands for?

Pete
E= Emile. My first name. They are actually night-and-day different than the 2K's, which utilize completely different tweet/midrange (aside from the obvious 6x12" vs. 2x10" woofers). If the 1K's are Thor's Hammer wrapped in velvet, the 2K's are 20 Thor's Hammers wrapped in velvet...

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Back to listening!

Okay, yeah now that you mention it, the 2k's really are, well, "Titanic". But, the XRT1k's visual appeal is similar. I'd love to hear a pair, I've heard so much about them. I guess what I really need to do is head down Naples way someday and drop in on Howard....(with his permission of course!)

Keep posting your impressions Emile...

Pete
