Default Stillpoints before or after EQ?

Stillpoints claims that there is not any tonal shift happening with the application of their products. If that's the case, then Stillpoints "could" be applied after EQ (like Dirac Live or Audyssey, or ...). Any thoughts on this?

I would suggest that there is a tonal shift or a presentation shift that might make it prudent to use those tools after installation of stillpoints.

Perhaps it's a reduction in distortion that gives the perception of a tonal change.

I had to adjust my speakers after installing Ultra 5's on them.
On my wooden floors the improvement with stillpoints on my speakers was pronounced so there was no hesitation with regard to having to adjust the speakers.

I definitely think there's probably a tonal shift, even though Stillpoints claims that there isn't. EQ'ing, such as the Dirac Live I have with my Theta Casablanca IV is supposed to compensate somewhat for the room. I realize room treatments are probably the first choice for audiophiles, but for someone like me with a great room (family room, dining, and kitchen in one area), room treatments are off limits. The only thing left for me is something like Dirac Live, in addition to great speakers and electronics. For example, I found that my CBIV (without using Dirac Live) was better than any other processor I had, even when using the on board EQ (like Audyssey, for example) with those other processors.

So, I could correct for the room as much as possible - Dirac Live - and then try footers like Stillpoints. However, if there is in fact a tonal shift, then it would be Stillpoints first, then EQ.

I agree with you. Set up the speakers, to maximize the effect of Stillpoints within the context of the restrictions of your room, and then eq with the solutions you have built into the processor.
