Default MC452 Input switch

Have a somewhat random question. Does anyone know how the balance and unbalanced input signal paths work on the MC452?

The reason I ask is that I had accidentally left the switch on “unbalanced” but was using balanced interconnects. I had just plugged in new speaker cables and was disappointed in the lack of bass. I didn’t bother looking at the switch in the back since the signal was flowing and music playing.

Looking at the diagram in the manual, it looks like the switch manages the negative signal. Though when I look at the signal flow the “balanced” negative input signal looks to bypass the switch.

Just curious, when I fixed the issue the sound was back to normal.

Look about 7-8 threads down about the 302 input switch, there is some info in there that might be useful for you.
